Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Parallel POS ("we", "us") provides point-of-sale and business-management software. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

2. Information we collect

Account details (name, email, company, username), billing information processed by our payment provider (Stripe), and product usage data needed to operate the service.

3. How we use your information

To create and manage your account, process payments, provide support, improve the product, and send service-related communications.

4. Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. See Stripe's privacy policy for details on their processing.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who help us operate (e.g., hosting, payments) under appropriate agreements, or where required by law.

6. Data retention & security

We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and we use industry-standard safeguards to protect it.

7. Connected accounts & third-party APIs

ParallelPOS can connect to third-party platforms you choose — such as TikTok, Google (YouTube, Search Console, Google Analytics), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Reddit, X, Mailchimp and WordPress — so that content you create in ParallelPOS can be published to accounts you control, and so that ParallelPOS can show you how that content and your website are performing; and to payment platforms such as Clover, so that a sale rung in ParallelPOS can be taken on your own card terminal (described below). When you connect an account we receive an access token from that platform, which we store encrypted and use only for the purposes you chose when connecting (for example, publishing a post or uploading a video you created, or reading the performance numbers described below). We do not read your private messages, contacts or feeds on those platforms, and we access only the data needed for the feature you asked for.

Google Search Console and Google Analytics (read-only). If you connect Google and choose to see your website's performance in ParallelPOS, we read — and never write — reports from the Search Console properties and Google Analytics properties your Google account already has access to: search clicks, impressions, average position and the queries and pages behind them (Search Console), and sessions, users, page views and traffic sources (Analytics). These numbers are shown only to you and the people you have invited into your ParallelPOS account, inside the Marketing and Website tabs, so you can see which pages and posts bring visitors. We do not change anything in Search Console or Analytics, we do not read data from properties you did not choose, and we do not use this data for advertising, profiling or any purpose other than showing you these reports.

TikTok. The ParallelPOS app on TikTok for Developers lets you connect the TikTok account you control and, from ParallelPOS, upload and publish videos you created to that account (TikTok's user.info.basic, video.upload and video.publish permissions), and read back the public performance of the videos ParallelPOS published for you — views, likes, comments and shares — so the Marketing tab can show how they did (video.list). We store only your TikTok open id, display name and the encrypted access token; we do not read your private messages, your followers, your feed or videos ParallelPOS did not publish, and we never post without an action you take in ParallelPOS. Disconnecting TikTok in ParallelPOS deletes the token; you can also remove ParallelPOS under Settings → Security → Manage app permissions in TikTok.

Clover. The ParallelPOS app on the Clover App Market lets a merchant who uses ParallelPOS as their point of sale take card payments on their own Clover device. When you press Connect Clover in ParallelPOS you sign in at Clover, and Clover gives ParallelPOS an access token for your merchant account, which we store encrypted. The app asks Clover for two read-only permissions: Merchant (read), to read your merchant id, business name and the list of Clover devices on your account so ParallelPOS can show which device a register is paired with; and Payments (read), to read the status and result of the payments, refunds and voids that ParallelPOS itself started on that device, so a sale is booked only once the device confirms it and a refund is reconciled against what the card still holds. For each such payment we store the amount, the outcome, the card brand and the last four digits of the card, and Clover's payment id — never a full card number, expiry date or security code, which stay on the Clover device and with Clover. We do not read payments you took outside ParallelPOS, your Clover inventory, orders, customers or employees, and ParallelPOS never moves money except as the result of a sale, refund or void an operator performs in ParallelPOS. Disconnecting Clover in ParallelPOS (My Account → Integration Settings → Card Terminal) deletes the stored token; you can also uninstall ParallelPOS from your Clover dashboard under More Tools, which revokes our access at Clover. Payments taken on a Clover device are also subject to Clover's own privacy policy.

You can disconnect any connected account at any time from within ParallelPOS, which deletes the stored token; you can also revoke our access from the platform's own security settings (for Google, at myaccount.google.com/permissions).

Google API Services. ParallelPOS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the publishing and reporting features you request, is never sold, is never used for advertising, and is never transferred except as necessary to provide those features, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you. No human reads this data except with your consent, for security purposes, or to comply with law.
